We had a particular fondness for the work of this talented couple. We actually started our collection with the carvings of Prudencia early on. The faces of their bears, mountain lions, badgers and more, are delicate, sweet and beautifully rendered. These standing bears with their big ears are particularly adorable and we had a fistful in our personal collection.

Carved from jet (fossilized coal), this sweet bear fellow has turquoise inlaid eyes and a sweet disposition. He is signed "VL PQ" on the feet.

Please disregard the kitty hair. She's not supposed to be on my worktable .. but she's a rebel!
