Vernon Lunasee & Prudencia Quam Badger Video

I initially thought this badger might be by Reynold Lunasee since it lacks some of the defining features of a badger carving by Vernon & Prudencia. Namely, the etched fur, stripe down the back and "VLPQ" initals on the feet. But after studying Reynold's work and theirs more closely, this is obviously not Reynold's work.

The features are too finely rendered, the face so delicately carved, that even without the detailed fur or initials, I am positive that it is Vernon and Prudencia. Since it was in Dave's collection, it could be that it was carved earlier than those without the more precise detailing, but I can't be sure of that.

The other remarkable thing about this badger is that it is silverado jet, rather than standard black jet. There is a metallic sheen to silverado that is similar (but not exactly) to hematite. Really nice and well carved.
