This old style eagle fetish is carved by Aaron (d.) and Thelma Sheche. It is inspired by the fetishes shown in the Cushing book that were made by Thelma's father, Theodore Kucate, in 1880. We currently have two of these old style carvings.


They are minimally carved with a simple "X" etched in the back for wings. This one is carved of serpentine and has jet inlaid eyes. It is unsigned but we are certain of its authenticity. It was purchased from a trusted and knowledgeable trader who purchased it in the 1990's from Aaron & Thelma in Zuni.
